Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Ethiopia has 12 river basins with a total of 122 billion cubic meters of water. Nevertheless, only about 57% of the population has access to potables water sources. Getting potable water is an effort for the communities that stops many other forms of development and emancipation. Furthermore, the contaminated water that are used in the villages even today cause diseas even lethal. In Ethiopia the mortality rate is 56 per 1,000 children and unclean water is the second leading cause of infant death. It is estimated that the access to clean water would reduce this rate of over 20%.
