HIV prevention & control

In Ethiopia, every year 24.000 people die rom HIV/AIDS pathologies. Despite the progress, the infection remains a significant cause of discrimination, especially for orphans and girls. Ethiopia is one of the countries with the largest orphan population (13%). Above them about 800,000 are orphans because of HIV/AIDS. When the early marriage fails, to get some incomes,  girls are forced  to find works as domestic workers (12%); others  become prostitutes or waitresses in the bars. In both cases, they often suffer of excess of working hours, low salaries and violence, increasing the risk of exposure to sexually transmitted diseases.
